'FOR SAFETY'S SAKE'

North American College Campuses - Personal Safety Initiative

Women in the dark, blowing the 'classic' emergency safety whistle - For Safety's Sake

Brian Genge, Past President, National Association of College Stores (NACS) - Research & Educational Foundation (CSREF) 501(c)(3) Oberlin, Ohio USA

“I spent many hours working with Alan Martlin of Ascent to develop our ['For Safety's Sake'] campaign and find him to be a responsible, creative, and extremely hard-working individual.

His approach to the program is non-commercial and he sincerely, enthusiastically believes in helping to promote the concept of personal safety awareness and preparedness.

His contacts in safety and law enforcement agencies are considerable, and will bring international credibility and scope to the program.”

Working Together, is, the key

What soon became the 'For Safety's Sake' Personal Safety initiative began in 1990. On a meandering transcontinental road trip to College campuses. Ending in meetings with Barry and Brian in Victoria, BC (as above) . . . before the College Stores Research & Educational Foundation (CSREF) in Oberlin, Ohio. Their respective 3000+ store membership, a hub of college life, right across North America.

So the NACS - CSREF 'For Safety's Sake' personal safety initiative was born. Broad in scope, with not one, but several personal safety educational messages. For we had the privilege to collaborate with several world-class institutional organizations in our campaign (listed below.)

So began the use of the monikers 'For Safety's Sake' and, 'Working Together For Safety's Sake'. From which trademark protection was sought and granted to Ascent for both in 1991.

This was not the first of Ascent's multi-contributor 'Special Educational' initiatives. As we were already collaborating with other like-minded groups and organizations in furtherance of their outreach strategies.

We had learned first-hand in practice, that joining forces works. That our flexibility and agility, as cause marketers and suppliers, bode well in collaborating with others. As the profiles on this page attest.

We are forever grateful to the Government and NGO campaign contributors. For many reasons. But this time, for their contributions to the CSREF 'For Safety's Sake' initiative. Following are their respective trademarks.

We are forever grateful to the seven Government and NGO organizations. Again, for many reasons. But this time, for their respective expertise and guidance toward 'Renting PWCs Successfully.' For which Ascent, as concept developer, sought to collaborate. Following are their respective trademarks.
