Natural Disaster Response series:

'Atmospheric River, October 2021—Canada & USA'

Within 3 months of the 'Heat Dome' (as reported) blanketing the very same region in July, the second of two severe back-to-back weather events nature presented much more devastation in October. This time, what meteorologists call an "Atmospheric River.” Two, actually, one right after the other.

As widely reported, this was a series of catastrophic multi-day, multi-event, rainstorms that to say the least, overwhelmed neighbouring Canadians and Americans across the region.

A historic mass water event on the heels of summer record heat that had effectually hardened the earth to adequate water drainage. Resulting in flash flooding, dike breaching, and lake-forming structural failings that forced hundreds of families to flee to higher ground.

Update: In the first week of November 2022, the very same region is reporting its 3rd 'Atmospheric River' while anticipating more.
